ROLE
CRUEL is looking for a business-centric professional with a passion for advertising and culture to join our team. Working collaboratively with the Manager, Accounting & Finance and Operations Manager, this role is intended for a young professional who is eager to learn about managing cash flow and profitability at a quickly growing business. The successful candidate will strengthen financial & operational support for our group, helping with general accounting and related operations. The role will report primarily to the Manager, Accounting & Finance, building a strong operational foundation for continued success within our core business.
Operations & Accounting Analyst
6-MONTH FULL-TIME CONTRACT
University degree or equivalent experience in a business, finance, or accounting-related field
Based in Toronto, open to working in-office 3+ days per week
Interest in learning within the events, marketing, and advertising spaces
Baseline knowledge of business accounting, including familiarity with financial statements, balance sheets, and posting transactions
Ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete multiple tasks concurrently to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, collaborating effectively with business, delivery and technology partners
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Help with the general accounting functions for CRUEL, including but not limited to accounts payable and accounts receivable
Support with receipt tracking across the business, working with key stakeholders in various departments
Oversee the accurate and timely input of critical financial data into systems, ensuring data integrity and precision across all platforms
Support with bookkeeping and day-to-day accounting of CRUEL, providing upkeep for the cloud accounting platform
Help with quarterly and annual internal reporting processes, supporting in preparation for presentations to the CRUEL management team
Support with creating and managing yearly, quarterly, and monthly cash flow schedules
Support with vendor relationships, issuing and processing invoices, and vendor account audits
Support with contracting and administrative functions for part-time promotional staff, including managing payments, timesheet validation, and payment processing
Stewardship and organization for company databases including vendor, legal, and accounting areas
Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of company inventory management system
